Sentimental Picture

We got this picture on our honeymoon many years ago. It's a print of the mural that's in the Washington DC temple. We picked it up at the visitors center for about $20. That's really all we could afford back then. It doesn't even have glass in it. But I love it! It reminds me of our beginning and how we wanted to base our family on the teachings of the gospel. If I have the story right I think the artist painted his wife's picture on both sides of Christ. Showing that we can choose how we live on earth that will ultimately determine our fate at judgment time. On the right she is praying and looking upward and on the left she is close to the savior kneeling in prayer bowing her head. I've always liked this picture- because we got it together at the beginning of our marriage but also because it depicts choices and prophecy. I can afford to buy a nicer frame these days but I'll keep this sentimental one. It's in our family room. One day I was thinking about replacing it with a nice pretty picture to change the vibe up a bit. The kids wouldn't go for it they liked this one instead. So here it remains. I recently added the scripture underneath it.

I really like that picture too. I had a good friend of mine that used "baseboard" as a frame and it looks totally cool, and you can buy the glass at home depot or lowes. I'm sure you knew that already. Good Luck!

Life keeps happening- I'm just trying to keep up! Also, I've learned about saving posts and post dating. It's been helpful to draft a few at a time especially when I'm uploading pictures anyway. That way I can start something but wait til I have the time to finish it up.

I love it! What a neat story that goes with it. I also love the vinyl scripture - it is the perfect compliment to the picture!
