Heather went to Morp (backwards prom) with her friend Connor Dickson. The theme was 50's Meet Me at the Diner! They had a fun time laser tagging, eating at a real 50's diner, playing games and dancing! Here's some pictures of their group:

Mormon Prom
Lauren went to prom with Ben. Same dress as the first prom but different boy. She changed up her hair too. As you can see in the pictures she had tons of fun. Their group got lost while driving to go cliff jumping and went swimming instead for their day date. Thank goodness!!!
Ben and Lauren

Another picking her up picture- why not everyone else does.

Ben, Lauren, Nathan and Kari

Dancing away!

Her other prom date was also at Mormon prom. She was a little surprised but hey picture opportunity. She said it wasn't awkward at all. Eric, Lauren and Ben.

Princess carriage!

This jumping I can handle. As long as it was the deep end.

You first!

Lost looking for cliffs?

Still looking for cliffs. She said it was still lots of fun. Sometimes the best times are spontaneous and can't be planned.

Prom
Lauren went to prom last Saturday night with Eric. She had a great time. Here's a picture of her hair. She did it herself and made the hair bow out of left over dress fabric. She had to coach a synchro meet earlier that day and got an unwanted sunburn.

Cute!

Asked to Prom
Lauren got asked to prom by Eric Short.

She is also going to "Mormon Prom" with Ben Reeves. So 2 proms this year- it's good to not have a boyfriend. We got her a dress! She looks like Disney's Ariel in her shimmery green dress but that was her goal I think. It's beautiful and she looks beautiful in it. It's being hemmed right now.

Synchro and Morp
Lauren is one of the coaches for a synchronized swim team, the Desert Dolphins. She has been involved with synchro for 8 years now so its nice that she gets paid for all the time she put into it over the years. She really loves working with the little girls. These pictures were taken at a recent synchronized swim meet.

Lauren asked her friend Cody to Morp (its a backwards prom, girl ask boy dance) This is his answer to her. It says, "I wouldn't want to burst your bubble so of course I'll go to morp with you!" When she asked him she had a bunch of balloons that said, "Don't burst my bubble, go to morp with me." Cute! Whatever happened to calling someone up on the phone like the good ol' days?

Winter Formal

This was Brandons answer to Lauren asking him to the dance. It says, "I know this may be choco late but I'd love to be your date." He also gave her 2 candy bars and brownies.

Yamina and Andrew, Brandon and Lauren (Click on the picture to see Lauren's sleeves. There wasn't much material left after the dress was hemmed so strips had to be sewn horizontally.) She loved everything about her dress! They both had a great time on their dates and it was nice they were in the same group. The joys of being a twin and actually like being around eachother!

This is about 1/2 of their group. They had a fancy dinner, played a picture scavenger hunt the night before in matching outfits (L and B were hippies, A and Y were sports fans), saw the temple lights, played games, ate at In n Out and oh yeah went to the dance.

Winter Formal dress
Today Lauren and I shopped for her winter formal dress. This is quite a milestone for her because last year she borrowed dresses from her older sister. They were all beautiful dresses and we had them altered to fit her. She's about 7 inches shorter and has narrower shoulders. She asked if she could get her own dresses for her senior year. My answer was, "if we can find some reasonably priced ones then yes." She did some pre shopping last week and found one that she thought would work. She decided that she wanted either a red or black dress and she wanted it to be long. We went to Dillard's in San Tan and found the winning dress. I'm not surprised that we found it at Dillard's because after searching for dresses with Nicole, Dillard's always seemed to have the best selection, the most modest dresses, the only cover ups around and the best prices.
Its a long red sleeveless dress. We are having cap sleeves put on it by our friend Ann Bowen. (She made the girls Synchro suits that Lauren designed in a previous post.) The plan is to use the excess fabric from the bottom of the dress. There should be enough to use. I hope. Stay tuned for the finished product.

When we got home from shopping I see Tyler and Daddy reading a story together. I notice that its a book I didn't buy and find out that Randy stopped off at DI and bought 20 kids books that he wanted to read with Tyler. Boy, I love that man!
