movie review and flower pots

Eclipse movie review. Don't worry no spoilers.

A friend of mine rented out the theater for an 8pm special showing yesterday before the midnight show. All the tickets had row and seat numbers on them so no mad dash to get your seats. It was sooo nice. She even had a raffle before the movie started. A couple of friends won a t-shirt (Shari) and another (MaryAnn) won a pack of Eclipse gum.
I thought the movie was great. Better than expected and with some great one-liners. The tent scene has one of my favorites! There's some surprisingly good humor and more development of the characters. I even liked Jasper better. I also thought the characters looked better. They must have a new make up artist or better lighting, something.
It was a good mix of fight scenes with a teenage love triangle romance. It certainly is a little cheesy but the story is a little cheesy. But I don't care, I guess I like cheesy. The movie also made me like movie Edward more because I've really wanted to since I liked him in the books but didn't so much in the previous 2 movies. Bella is not as annoying either. This movie is all around just better! A good date movie for me and hubs. He won 2 free tickets so I get to go again tomorrow.

Well here are my flowers after 2 weeks in 110 degree heat. Not too bad. A few dried up but the majority survived. I was feeling pretty confident so I added another pot. Here's the post that explains the story behind the flowers.

I just might be able to handle the rest of the summer!

Movie reviews

I've seen a few movies in that last few weeks. Some in the theatre and some on DVDs. Some I recommend and some not so much.

Invictus: I saw this at the dollar theatre which turned out to be a smart choice. I was disappointed. I like sports movies but not this one. I really thought that it would be better with Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman in it but no. It was slow and just not good.

The Time Traveler's Wife
: Really dumb, not very romantic and just strange. So glad I didn't spend lots of money in the theatre for it. It's a shame because I really liked her in the Notebook.

2012: I picked this one up on DVD because I thought husband would like it. It actually was good, well acted and exciting. I wish that we saw it in the movie theatre because it would be great on a big screen.

Avatar: I didn't want to see it. Husband had to beg me. I thought I wouldn't like it because I hate all that science fiction stuff. When everyone was crazy about Lord of the Rings I just couldn't watch it. Hated it. So I went into it thinking the worst.....But I really loved it. So good and would love to see it again. I even liked the 3D glasses.

Dear John: It was sweet and romantic, kinda sad and very similar to the Notebook but not as good. It was good though, very emotional I cried.

Movie review

My daughter and I went to see Love Happens today. There is major football and baseball watching going on at our house on Saturdays and I couldn't take it anymore. So, instead of complaining I made lemonade out of lemons and went to the movies. Heather didn't mind- she needed a football break too.

I have to say that I really enjoyed this movie. I thought it was cute and sweet but also had great meaning and healing in it. Its like a how to feel good movie. You'll have to see it so that makes sense. It also has one of the best date scenes. So cool. Granted some things didn't seem to fit like the "random words" but it was still cute. I had a friend who majored in film and would be so critical of plots and an authentic story line but I feel that if I laughed and cried and it made me feel good; I liked it. So I give it my stamp of approval. Go see it you might like it too.

Hey...I should do this every Saturday. A girls got to do, what a girls got to do. Wasn't that a line in a movie?
