Visiting Teaching

At church we had a Relief Society Visiting Teaching Conference. Visiting Teaching is a wonderful program that pairs up 2 women as companions to visit a few other women in the ward (congregation) each month. Why visit? Well to encourage, uplift, teach, help and befriend one another. Every women in the LDS church is a visiting teacher and/or has a visiting teacher. A story was told of a visiting teacher who brought yellow tulips to her sister (friend).

The handout says: "In the end, the number of prayers we say may contribute to our happiness, but the number of prayers we answer may be of even greater importance. Let us open our eyes and see the heavy hearts, notice the loneliness and despair; let us feel the silent prayers of others around us; and let us be an instrument in the hands of the Lord to answer those prayers." Elder Uchtdorf, Sept. 2008 RS Meeting

I love this quote. This spring when I see yellow tulips it will make me think of service and remind me of my sisters.

I love that quote also. Thanks for sharing.

I recently helped re-do VT in our ward. I had a testimony of VT before but was reminded again how important VT is.

I wrote about you on my blog today. Hope that's ok to link your blog?

Did you graduate from USU? I did too.

I didn't remember that quote.. so thanks for sharing it! I needed it!

I have quite a testimony of V-teaching. I love having mine come.. and I love the relationships I have made with other Women who I teach. It is a very important part of the church. :) I wish I was always 100%.. but I'm not. I still try, try, try!
