100 lb. quest

I lost 2 pounds last week.  I lose when I don't exercise as much but to be honest I miss exercising more.  And this girl needs to tone up. I'm going to try to be alright with not losing as much but feeling good about working out which I know my body needs.  This is big.  I'm the girl who always used to complain about sweating and being uncomfortable about any exercise.

.

I've been dealing with crazy emotions lately. I'm noticing how different people react to me now that I'm thinner. More eye to eye contact, more smiles, more asking me if I need help in stores. It's strange. I'm the same person on the inside I've always been. It makes me sad and a little angry that people actually chose not to be as nice to me for many years.

That makes me sad to! But I'm so proud of you for your accomplishment and your continuing quest! I have a hard time with exercise but I know I need it as well...I started up walking with a friend every morning but I need to do more.

Keep up the good work, you're doing GREAT!!

way to go on your quest - and as for exercise - don't we all need to do a littie more ?

It is sad to think that we as human beings make judgements based on appearance and don't treat others as kindly when they appear different than what our expectations are. I have to admit though, that I have been guilty of that myself, whether it's someone who has a lot of piercings, their hair dyed strange colors, they're dressed a bit differently or any number of things. It's hard to relate to things that we don't quite understand ourselves and though I don't think we really mean to, we judge and we feel awkward, and in turn so does the person we're judging. On the flip side of things when we go through our own personal changes, I think we become more open with others, so they are more open and engaged with us. I find when I have gone through or go through certain trials and learned from them, I can see others in theirs, especially when I look them in the eye and recognize that though we may not have had the same struggle or circumstance we have something in common, it's something that binds us and we are more open to them. So I suppose it's all the perspective we put things in in our lives because of where we are and where we are trying to go. I think your persistance, and enthusiasm for exercise is inspiring! Keep going and please keep sharing!!!!

You are a wise friend Patrice. This personal situation and others our family has had recently definitely taught me a lot about Not Judging Others. You NEVER know what others experiences and situations are. Always "Look for the Good" is a good motto to live by!

I like to say "Look for the truth". If we truly know who we are, we also know who they are and when we do, we treat others with the same unconditional love and mercy that our Heavenly Father gives us. If only I could remember to do that 100% of the time...I'm working on it though!
