My grandma's hutch

When ever I think of my grandma (Oma) I think of a strong, faithful, optimistic women. I hope to be just like her. This cabinet was hers and I can remember having dinner at her house and admiring this hutch. I am so glad that it's now in my home and I get to walk by it every morning as I come out of my bedroom at the start of my day. She passed away back in the early 80's and never met my husband or children. I hope she's proud of us.

It has my white statue collection in it and my last dried flower arrangement. Randy hates dried flowers so since I still like this one I placed it in here to keep it. He doesn't mind since its out of the way. The FAITH sign reminds me of her so I thought it belonged with her cabinet. The picture needs to be hung higher I know. Haven't gotten around to it yet. It has special meaning for me as well. Somewhat personal. Maybe I'll share one day.

Lisa that is a beautiful cabinet.

It is wonderful to have things in your home that are special, belonging to grandparents with memories attached!!

Your white statue collection looks so perfect inside!

Did you know I love heirlooms? (ha-ha )Yes I do.. because just like you said.. you walk past it and think of those that owned them.
I know it's just "stuff" but sometimes "stuff" reminds us of memories and importnant people.

That hutch is BEAUTIFUL.
~ and so are the statues inside.

Lisa,

What a beautiful hutch!! What a gift to have! You are so very lucky! Your statues inside are very pretty. I hope one day that you will be able to pass it to one of your children or grand child. What a legacy to leave! I hope life is treating you good and you are having a wonderful day! -Suzanne

It is very nice. I am sure your grandmother would love it. I love having things from my ancestors. They fill me with love and help me feel connected. What a blessing you have the hutch.

That is a beautiful piece of furniture and even better that it was your grandmas.
I love the stuff you have in it.
I can tell that there is meaning with each article.
