Smells like Spring

Getting ready for Easter at our house. Tyler is playing with all the holiday bunnies and decorations. The animals have been placed at the table to join us for meals.
This year I purchased an Easter lily. Why haven't I done this before? It smells so good. Our house smells like springtime.

These snow white flowers symbolize new life, purity and hope.

The bulb of these flowers buried in the ground represents the tomb of Jesus and the glorious white trumpet-like fragrant flowers which grow from the bulbs symbolize His life after death. The snowy white color stands for the purity of the Divine Savior and the joy of the resurrection while the trumpet shape signifies Gabriel's trumpet call to rebirth and new life.

Every single year, my hubby takes our son to buy me an Easter lily plant--just as he did for his own mother.
It is a tradition that I love!!
The symbolism makes it that much more special too!
Hope your Easter is perfect.

The Easter Lily is so beautiful. Your post made me think "Why don't I buy one every year too?". It is such a gorgeous flower and thanks for posting the meaning - wonderful.

I hope you and your family have a great Easter!

Okay, I guess I am going to have to get a lily as well. I don't want to be left out. Thanks for sharing about the symbolism.

I was looking at your "you might also like" pictures. Had to laugh at the one of Lauren. So last year--now she is getting ready to get married. How does Nicole feel about it all? I think my 22 year old would have a bit of a hard time if her younger sister got married first. And please share the story of when you got kicked out of the RV park!:-)

I just came home with some Easter Lily's from Costco, they have nice big ones too! The plus was I got to smell them the entire time we were shopping there!
