Dishing It

Photobucket
This is a once a month blog party. Click on the Dishing it picture and link up. The topic is a Q and A about Moms.

Q: What's the best thing about your mom?
A: She's the most giving person I know.

Mom came to help me out with the twins. I love this picture. She let me know that I could handle twins and a 2 year old. That confidence in me is just what I needed to hear.

Q: What's your relationship with your mom like? (do you just tolerate each other, or is she your best confidant)?
A: I would say somewhere in between. I do respect her advice. Sometimes I just don't take it.

Q: If there is one quality about your mom that you could emulate, what would it be?
A: Her strength. She emigrated to the United States from Austria soon after WWII with no money, no language, and hardly any family/friends. My mom has the ability to turn nothing into something. If there was ever a natural disaster by us I would turn to her because she could handle anything.

Q: Describe the most embarrassing outfit your mom made you wear when you were growing up?
A: matching dresses for me and my 2 sisters.

Q: What's the best advice your mom has ever given you?
A: To work hard and do your best

Q: What's your favorite thing about motherhood?
A: Teaching them and seeing them grow. My kids are starting to leave the nest and I am in awe of the good people they have become.

Q: What's the most difficult?
A: Having enough energy to do all that needs to be done. Basically taking care of myself so that I can give to my family.

Wow! It sounds like your mom's story deserves a whole post. How brave she must be! And how brave you are for tackling motherhood with a 2 year old AND twins...you go, girl! ;) Thanks so much for linking up to my party. Have fun "mingling." :)

What a fun post!! Your mom sounds like a wonderful woman. And I love the picture of her and the twins. I have always been jealous of those people who got to take two babies home from the hospital instead of just one. :-)

Stopping by from Amanda's party. How neat to read about your mom! She must be a really brave, hard-working woman. And she must have passed those qualities along to you. I can just imagine what it must have been like to have twins and a two-year-old. . . a new baby and a two-year-old were a lot of work, if I remember correctly!

Your mother and you both sound like really lovely women. Enjoy Mother's Day!

I'd love to hear more about your mom coming to the US. Her story sounds like history that shouldn't be lost. You must have had some exhausting years with twins and a two year old.
