I had just taken my kids to school and was dropping off my kindergartener when a friend said, "Did you see the news? A plane flew into one of the Twin Towers in NY." I was shocked , dumbfounded and sick to my stomach as I watched the news. How could this happen in my America.
I love this version of the Star Spangled Banner from the opening ceremonies of the 2002 Olympics. It always makes me tear up. I especially like how they start soft and end strong. How the flag comes in tattered and broken from the Twin Towers site but another flag is raised as if to say we will not remain broken, we will overcome! God Bless America. Land that I love!
