Snowboarding

Andrew went snowboarding with some friends to Sunrise during spring break. It was a long day- up at 4am and home by 9pm. He came home tired and hungry but had a great time. This is where his equiptment landed- at my front door. He had a bowl of cereal and straight upstairs to bed. I had to wait until the next day to hear about the trip and by then he didn't want to talk about it anymore. It was old news, apparently. That's why its so important to be there (home) when kids are coming in or going out. It's the best time to get them talking. I think a general authority said that once. (but in my case make sure their mood is just right too.) Teenagers shhesh!

So true! I think this especially applies to boys.. They sometimes don't like to give "details" like girls do..

Good advice! I totally agree with the Teeagers Shesh remark! It's just good to know that one day they really will appreciate what you've done and do for them and they even say thanks!

I totally agree on needing to be there when teenagers come home. About the only time I could get my son to talk with me was around midnight when he got home from a date. I would always stay up and visit with him. It was exhausting but having him know I would always be there kept him out of a lot of trouble as well.

And about your comment on my blog--too funny. I think you are right, there is a seminary lesson in there. I will have to use it. :-)
