The Adventure continues...

So we're on the side of the road. Not one car stops to help. We are on our own. Should we hike it? My husband has shingles. Seriously. They have since scabbed over but are painful. How he made the drive I'll never know. He's Superman. My daughter who is a runner says she'll do it. My son is napping. Ahh! What should we do? We say a prayer. There is open fields everywhere we look. I feel like we should call for help. Through a series of phone calls we reach a tow company who will drive the 40 miles to bring us gas. It takes another hour and a load of cash. Then finally we're back on the road.

Finally got to our hotel. Tyler fell fast asleep. Yep, he sleeps with his butt up in the air and takes up the whole bed.

Next day we went to Travis's family home and had the reception that night. Why didn't I take any pictures? Too busy I guess. The Whiting's have a lovely home that Shane, Travis's dad built. I loved all the storage. Seriously awesome storage! Lauren has said for a long time that us two mothers are alike. It's true, Mela, Travis's mom and I are a lot alike. We decorate our homes the same and tear up often, we're tenderhearted. She's kind and friendly and was the perfect hostess. We felt very at home in their home. The reception was decorated with a lot of white picket fences and lattice. Plenty of pink and yellow flowers. It was beautifully done. Good food and good company.
I got to see Cherie Bakow my blogger friend. Again no camera. Ahh. I would have loved to spend more time with her. She is just as awesome as I knew she'd be. I really felt I knew her even though we had just met for the first time. It was truly a treat and one of the highlights for me. I love the friends I've made blogging.

Then Lauren and Travis showed us the house they will be moving into. It's a flip house that Trav's brother bought and that they'll be helping him to fix up while they live in it.

There was a log cabin house in their backyard. Tyler liked it.

Saying good bye to the happy couple .

Then we made our way to the temple grounds. My oldest and my youngest together. My other 2 stayed home because of school and work.

After dropping Nicole off at her apartment we were back on the road. What an awesome few days spent with Nicole. I needed to talk with her and share with her again. She's amazing! Boy, did she come to life when she got back into her town. She's happy and has great friends. Very comforting for a mom.

This time instead of zipping through those cute little Southern Utah towns we stopped and shopped. This was taken in Panquitch.

Then we went to Bryce Canyon. Randy has been wanting to go for a long time. It was beautiful.

Well that's the trip. When we arrived back home there were no surprises. Andrew did a good job being in charge of his little sister. I could tell they bonded. The house was clean and he even made dinner a few times.

You know I loved meeting you too Lisa - It was great and the Open House so pretty. Loved all the pictures and Lauren and Travis are SOOOOO cute!!! I need to go find them and bring them cookies or something - Let them know they have another "mom type" living nearby if they need anything.

Sounds like your trip back was great - sightseeing is fun and it sounds like you got to spend some good time with Nicole and then alone ? with Tyler - that is special!!

What a great way to cap off wedding festivities! Except for the broken down on the side of the road part. ;)

Your trip sounds exciting--full of adventures to share!
So glad all went well and you're home safely!
Boise is a nice town to live in...we lived there from 2006-2008 in Meridian.

You ladies are all just so neat. I can tell.

Glad your 2nd reception went well despite the car problems and shingles, really? My husband has had those and I know how painful they can be. What a trooper your husband is.

Have a good day!
