He caught a fish

I go to mutual on Thursdays nights spending time with an awesome bunch of 14-15 year old girls from my church.  On this night I had to bring along my little boy because there was no one to watch him at home.  He didn't mind a bit because the activity was fishing. This is his first time ever to fish. He was so excited!  Tyler was the only one to catch a fish!

Tangled dress up

Tyler went to a Tangled birthday party for his friend Qwynlon.  He dressed up as "Flynn Ryder" borrowing his older sister's boots and and his mom's frying pan.

EFY

Heather went to EFY (Especially for Youth) in Flagstaff last week.  She had a great time and loved everyone in her company.. She's in the middle in the pictures. Her older sister returned from Taiwan/China study abroad and is in Logan this week as an EFY counselor.  Too bad we couldn't get them together.

I missed her terribly but I think Tyler missed her even more. On the night she got back she and Tyler wrote up a list of things for them to do together and even signed it.  Here's what it says...

Tyler & Heather's List:
play wii
dance party
eat treats
go in the pool
paint
give each other lovins
bake goodies
watch TV

Tyler & Heather pinky promise to fulfill all items on this list and enjoy themselves doing so.
And then they both signed it!

end of the year teacher gift

This is what I'm doing for Ty's kindergarten class and teacher.  I got the idea  here. She has printables too.

Inside the teachers owl bag are candy bars.  Some large and some leftover small ones.  I did notice that the triangle head was wacky.  I trimmed it up before we delivered it!

The little owls say, "Owl miss you"  on the front and "Have a great summer" on the back.

It's official

He's ready for Kindergarten. What a sweet boy! Such a blessing to be his mommy! Pictures of his preschool class and teacher Miss Kris. He's been with her for 2 years now. She converted her 2 car garage into a classroom. It's a fun, happy place to learn.
When we came home he said, "Well, that was an adventure!" Love that kid!

Lucky

On days when I think....am I doing anything of value. It seems like all I do is cook, clean and do laundry.

I went to pick up my little boy from preschool when the teacher said, "You've got to hear what Tyler said about you today"! Oh no! What could that possibly be? She said the kids were talking about their Christmas break and about all the fun things they did with their families. Then the conversation turned to some moms that had to go back to work. One boy spoke up about how his mom didn't want to go back to work and that she missed him when she was gone. My Tyler spoke up and said, "My mom is the luckiest mom in the whole world because she gets to stay home with me all day long".

You know he's right. I am the luckiest mom in the world!

He's 5

Tyler is 5 years old. We had a fun time spend with cousins at Peter Piper Pizza then back home for cake and ice cream. Here are 5 things about Tyler: he has a great imagination, is learning to be a gentleman by holding the door open for his sisters and mom, is good at taking turns, likes to help his mom clean and cook and is learning to be a good sport when he doesn't win at a board game.

He loves dinosaurs.

Lauren and Travis made his cake. He loved it.

cutie pie

Tyler is now in Andrew's old room and using his big bed. Look how I found him one night. There's enough room for his stuffed animals. A nightlight saved the day and made bedtime much smoother. Now as long as Heather doesn't wake him up in the morning when she's getting ready for school I just might get a good nights sleep.

In the middle of all the wedding fun and extended family visits Tyler got invited to his 1st birthday party. It was a Star Wars party for his friend Jaren. Tyler can Swim!

In the past Tyler has been a stinker around water. Too afraid to stick his head in the water and refused to try. Well, I found a great swim teacher and after 3 lessons he was swimming on his own under the water, diving to the bottom to pick up toys and even jumping in and swimming to the other side of the pool. Right now he's learning how to dive. It's amazing!

bedtime

Bedtime at our house consists of pajamas.

brushing teeth

saying prayers

and reading one of these books.

Why is it that I'm always so much more tired than he is at the end of the day? (see, I'm so tired I can't even put together a decent sentence)

My magic energy pills. I'm hoping they'll help.

Something fun to share tomorrow!

What a helper!

I asked Tyler to get dressed. My mistake was saying, "Pick anything you want." Apparently he had to dump all his shirts and pants on the floor to find what he wanted. At least he left his underwear and pajamas intact.

Here's the clothes he chose to wear! His favorite pants. Can you tell?

Oh to be 4 again...

Today my guy was a Baseball, Viking, Pirate all day long. Gotta love the imagination of a 4 year old boy. By the end of the day he chewed the hook and lost the eye patch.

Isn't this the cutest picture? Tyler and his cousin Cody were playing hard for a few hours and were now enjoying a movie together. They decided to share the beanbag chair.

Birthdays

Tyler's birthday is today. My little boy is now 4 years old. Four words to describe him are playful, happy, determined and creative. We always go out to eat where ever the birthday person chooses to go. Tyler picked McDonalds which was no surprise to any of us. He wanted to have a cookie cake he saw at the mall (Paradise Bakery) with blue candles.

He was having trouble blowing out the candles so the girls helped him.

Then he had some trouble unwrapping the presents so Andrew helped him.

Gift from his big brother.

Playing Hungry Hippos

My birthday was this weekend too. I received some wonderful presents but the best was my kids home from college. We are having the best time together. I love the people they are becoming.
