Summer is Here

My mornings are filled with swim lessons, swim team, Tyler's friends over.  Afternoons are filled with all things Heather including her friends!  I love summertime and concentrating on my kids.  I do make sure I get 45 minutes of exercise each day.  I've never done that before....spend time on me too!

Tyler's first ever swim meet.  Freestyle and Freestyle relay.  Next week is Backstroke.

He did great until he looked down.

Heather volunteered in a Kindergarten classroom all year long for school credit.  She loved it!  Maybe she'll take after her mother and become a school teacher too.

More volunteering with her friend Alexa.

Tyler can Swim!

In the past Tyler has been a stinker around water. Too afraid to stick his head in the water and refused to try. Well, I found a great swim teacher and after 3 lessons he was swimming on his own under the water, diving to the bottom to pick up toys and even jumping in and swimming to the other side of the pool. Right now he's learning how to dive. It's amazing!

Synchronized Swimming

Lauren and Heather were on a competitive synchronized swimming team for a few years. Practices and meets kept me and them very busy. Now Lauren is the head coach at one of the city pools and Heather assists her. Maybe now we'll get the money back from what we spent on lessons over the years.

They designed this swimsuit for their duet routine.

Lauren is the coach.

Putting gelatin in their hair so it will stay stiff and hold up in the water.

She found a fun swim cap and nose plug and couldn't resist.

Circus team costume. They went to regionals with this routine. Only my girls could find a sport with makeup and bling.

Swim lessons

Tyler has been taking swimming lessons at the pool where Lauren life guards. I signed him up to be in her class. He really enjoys it.

His favorite- playing with the toys

In the big pool, just after he jumped in, doing the monkey crawl.

Synchro and Morp

Lauren is one of the coaches for a synchronized swim team, the Desert Dolphins. She has been involved with synchro for 8 years now so its nice that she gets paid for all the time she put into it over the years. She really loves working with the little girls. These pictures were taken at a recent synchronized swim meet.

Lauren asked her friend Cody to Morp (its a backwards prom, girl ask boy dance) This is his answer to her. It says, "I wouldn't want to burst your bubble so of course I'll go to morp with you!" When she asked him she had a bunch of balloons that said, "Don't burst my bubble, go to morp with me." Cute! Whatever happened to calling someone up on the phone like the good ol' days?

News Flash

Andrew swam at ASU in the state final swim meet. He swam a 23 sec. 50y butterfly. He was pleased with his time. Its his personal best for the season. The team ended up in 19th place overall. It was crazy crowded so I wasn't able to get a picture.

I have a new license plate. You'll have to see it to believe it. I love it. It expresses who I am, what is most important to me and where my mission on earth, that of being a mother, began. Women libbers will hate it.

We have a house that we're getting ready to sell. (I know, good luck) The renters just moved out and Randy went to check on it today. Bad news. The renters left a HUGE mess. Randy called and asked for help. My sister, brother in law and nephew came along with Heather, Andrew and I. Lauren was in traffic school. We filled up my brother in laws truck with lots of junk. Then we started to clean up the best we could. Get this, they also left 2 dogs and 2 cats behind. The mess and smell was disgusting. The humane society picked up the animals. Can you believe it? Its still yucky but at least now you can walk inside without stepping on stuff. I should have brought my camera to post pictures, but seriously it was too gross to see over and over again.

I miss Synchro

(Click on the picture to enlarge and see their funky makeup and knoxed out hair.)

My girls Heather and Lauren have been doing Synchronized Swimming for years. This year they both decided to stop. They seem to be fine and are not missing it but I really miss seeing them perform and really enjoyed the time we had driving to and from practices. You know, quality bonding time. I've always gotten alot of information about whats going on in their lives by driving my kids around.
